Men experience sexism. Not as often as women do, true, and not as bad when it does happen I think, but they do still experience it. Sexism is not solely against women, it is anyone discriminating on anyone else because of their sex. 

Stop being an idiot.

hate feminism all you want, it got you more rights than you can even fathom.

men do not experience institutional oppression that is sexism. they RUN the institutions. if people would take 10 minutes to research into this, i wouldn’t spend half my days facepalming.

ladies being ungrateful for their rights which were fought for BY feminists break my heart. it just really sucks and i wish people would educate themselves rather than immediately shit on people that think much more critically about the world than they do.

also the tag stating this original post is sexist against men? yeah that’s really sexist, asking men to stop taking up so much space and having their voices constantly heard in conversations that do not concern them. it’s really, really sexist.

women basically cannot have a space of their own because men are too busy asserting themselves and taking up any potential space. it blows.

hey. i know this is meant to be a women-only discussion about feminism, but i would encourage you to be careful with that middle part about being ungrateful.

feminism as a general term refers to the default which is white, middle-class, heterosexual feminism that fought for the rights of the women to have agency outside of the home, sure, but at the incredibly overlooked expense of women of color being absolutely shat on.

in fact feminism in America traces its roots most often to those white women who were literally making biological arguments that black folks were inferior genetically. it was social darwinism to them. 

so there are a whole lot of women who have absolutely nothing to be grateful to feminism for unless the qualifier of black, or native is added before it or the phrase “by women of color” is adding to the end of that feminism.

again, i’m not trying to tell you about your movement (also, anyone who reblogs this don’t call me dude. this is not a threat this is just a request for respect). but i am trying to point out how that middle statement about being ungrateful is couched in a history of racism that you certainly didn’t mean to invoke and it seems prescriptive which is actually the last thing feminism should be.

(by the way, steph you are actually kind of the shit, which is WHY i’m taking the time to write this, because i’m sure you know a lot of this, but getting caught up in a moment of facepalming and douchefuckery can make us forget our own movement’s issues and problems and failures)
